Convenience is the biggest advantage of bedside tables. We want everything to be within easy reach for us. This makes bedside tables extremely useful. With today’s loft beds, you want to buy bedroom end tables that are high enough to be level with the top of the mattress. It can be a little lower, but ideally it would be an extension of the bed. You want to be able to get to things like a glass of water easily, even in a pitch-dark room.
The size is also important. If you like to have a lot of things next to your bed, you might want to get a table with a larger top. A lamp and an alarm clock can also take up a lot of space on the table. You want to make sure you have enough space so your book, glass of water, or smartphone doesn’t lurk dangerously at the edge, or worse, a vase falls over in the middle of the night and not only wakes you up, but scares you to death.
If you have space left, make sure you have side tables on either side of the bed. While you can get by with one, it’s far better to have two so you can access your stuff on either side without cluttering up a table with all the stuff you need.
An extended bedside table is always a good idea. However, if you want to move your table and use it as a stool, you can opt for a mobile version.
