Hardwood floors are a classic beauty for any home. Given its durability, it’s an obvious choice for many. Although wooden floors are very easy to maintain, they also have disadvantages. A new type of wood flooring, a modified version of wood, was launched. This has received much praise and is in greater demand than traditional wooden floors. This new type of flooring is called technical oak flooring.
Why prefer oak parquet?
Normal wooden floors are not compatible with all weather conditions. It is said to be easily damaged if exposed to more or less than average humidity levels. Ready-made parquet flooring made of oak easily withstands moisture. Because it is designed for adverse conditions, it is suitable for all weather conditions. Also, all the wood is used to make this type of flooring and nothing is wasted. That makes it more environmentally friendly. This would be a lucrative proposition for all nature lovers.
What is oak parquet?
With parquet floors made of oak wood, several layers of wood (plies) are bonded together under heat and pressure. The layers are usually placed perpendicular to each other as this increases the strength of the floor covering. To do this, thin layers of wood are joined together. Installing this flooring creates a thick wear layer that prevents damage to the wood from physical wear and tear. This floor has a higher density than natural wood, making it more robust and user-friendly. This flooring can be glued directly to tile floors or stone floors. This saves the effort of demolishing the existing floor covering. The only condition is that the base should be flat.
What you should consider when it comes to flooring
- Plank Size: Flooring plank sizes come in a variety of sizes. You can choose which size suits your home from the options available. Small plank sizes in a rectangular shape create a formal and office-like look, while large plank sizes create a farmhouse look. So the size of the plank is important when it comes to looks.
- Stain: Oak parquet is available in different colors and stains. Depending on whether you want a lighter or darker tone, you can choose a specific stain for your interior.
- Quantity: For safety reasons, always order 10% more planks than the exact carpeted area of the house.
