The valances are deeply pleated sheets or borders that are attached to the bed canopy or window frame as a decorative material to cover the area below. The valances are commonly used over windows to bring out the beauty of the windows. Most often, valances are used as a decorative curtain that is hung over the windows to enhance the interior design of the room.

Most often, the valances in the living rooms are placed over the frames of the windows to make them more beautiful and eye-catching. These have a direct effect on visitors and form a great combination with the windows.

Types of flounces

There are about nineteen patterns that can be used to attach the valances to the windows to make them alluring and eye-catching. The flounces are used in living rooms, bedrooms, guest rooms, etc.

The cascade style is the oldest and most common style in the home. Added to this is the Morracon style which is difficult to make but is one of the best styles that is sure to catch the attention of onlookers.

The wavy pinch bel style is used for larger windows covered by larger valances. Similarly, the wavy top with tucked bells is another way of using the same style.

The button and bell style is mostly adopted for the bedrooms.

Soft dip style and cuffed dip style add a modern and contemporary look to your room.
